Hazelwood Wins at Bathurst 6 Hour

Todd Hazelwood and his co-driver Rob Rubis have won the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour competing in Class C in a BMW 130i. This was Todd’s first event in a production car race and first long distance endurance race which he did not fail to deliver in.

Comments from Todd Hazelwood:
“Coming into this weekend, I had never driven the car before, hadn’t met any of my team members, didn’t even know Robert who I was driving with! So to walk away with a class win is really special and to stand on that Bathurst podium for the first time is something I will never forget.”

Rob did a fantastic job all weekend behind the wheel. He was consistent and brought the car home in once piece. The little BMW felt great in the final stint and I was able to really push hard and catch up to the leader. We were even doing some of the fastest laps of the race on a full tank of fuel which was fun! The team played a huge role in this victory and I cannot thank Garry and his team at On Track Motorsport enough.”

A special thank you must go to Scott Turner from Mainpoint Advisory & Pulse Capital for providing the fantastic opportunity. It was such a fun weekend of racing and hopefully we can do it all again in 2018!”

The biggest race in Australian history with 66 cars on track

Comments from Rob Rubis:
“This feels incredible,” said Rubis. “I have done two 24 hours, about four 12 hours, a number of two hours and a lot of support racing and it is just the best feeling in the world to stand up there and have a class-winning trophy in Class C.”

“To race with a young gun like Todd Hazelwood is just fantastic, it has been absolutely brilliant and I couldn’t ask for more.”
